Recognition of teaching qualifications

Högskoleverket (Swedish National Agency for Higher Education) assesses teaching qualifications taken abroad. As teaching is a regulated profession in Sweden, anyone wishing to gain permanent employment as a teacher in the Swedish public school system must have their teaching qualifications recognised. If an applicant meets the prerequisites, a certificate is issued entitling an applicant to take up a permanent teaching post either in pre-school, primary school, secondary school or extended school (before and after school care).
